About Us
History
MAPESA, S.A. (Maritime and Port Engineering S.A.) began in Panama in 2005 as a result of the opportunities and demands of the Panamanian fluvial market’s growth. The success of MAPESA in Panama led us to cross the border to Colombia, where the company is currently headquartered
The Colombian company Masering, S.A.S. which predominately operates carbon mines, developed an interest in expanding its work to maritime and fluvial engineering works, as well as beginning the process of developing port infrastructure in the Colombian Caribbean coast. In order to carry out these goals, Masering, S.A.S. acquired a majority stake in MAPESA, S.A., in December, 2006.
